On the first day second game of the AFCON Cape verde sealed their very first win of the competition since 2013 by beating Ethiopia.
Both teams choose a 4-3-3 formation for the game with a win in their mind. The game changer decision was came in the 11th minute, where Ethiopia’s defender Yared Bayeh sent off with street red card after brought down Cape Verde’s Julio Tavares. The referee first show him a yellow card, but after VAR review, he changed his mind and show him a red card.
After the red card, The blue sharks trying to press the 10 man Ethiopian side. The walyas defend well until stoppage time of the first half. On the 46th minute, Julio Tavares headed Rodriguez’s cross from right flank to put Cape Verde ahead as they get back to the dressing rooms.
After the break the Walyas trying to get an equaliser by playing a counter attack. On the 48th minute Ethiopia’s Getaneh Kebede tries to create something, but it was not successful at that time. On the 70th minute The blue sharks try to extend their lead by Keni Santos, but Teklemariam Shanko denied them from scoring. After this attempt, there was not that much goal attempts and the game was concluded by rewarding The blue Sharks a sweet 3points.

On their second game the Waliyas will play hosts Cameroon and Cape Verde will play Burkina Faso on Thursday.
